Dafey Bhir Trek

Dafey Bhir is a little known pass in the western part of Sikkim bordering with Nepal.
This trek offers majestic views of Sikkim and Nepal mountain range, which includes Mt.
Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu and Mt. Khachenjunga. One of the only point providing
such views of mountains in Sikkim. Verdant valleys, gushing rivers, dazzling lakes, thick
forests teeming with wildlife and birds characterize this stupendous trail. Dafey Bhir is a top
point of this trek, “Dafey” means Himalayan Monal and Bhir means the Pass. This Pass is also known as ‘Devil Pass’ as it is one of the most difficult pass to cross in winter.
This trek starts from the village of Sangkhola, situated at the base of the valley. Over the next
four days our path ascends through the Yambong valley, criss-crossing the Chu Dzom river
and meandering through the densely forested slopes. Stupendous views of the
Khangchendzonga and Everest ranges beckon us once we reach our high point named Dafey
Bhir. The view point from where one could see the two highest ranges in the world,
Kangchendzonga range and the Everest range.
