Rani Dunga is a big rock located on the top of Changay village in West Sikkim. ‘Rani’ means Queen and ‘Dunga’ means Rock in Nepalis dialect, a historical place related with the second king and queen of Sikkim. Rani Dunga is also a pilgrimage site and many local people visit this place to offer prayers. It’s a day hike of 6km from sky walk, Pelling. The trail is a paradise for bird watchers and nature lover, as the forest has a good number of bird species. Apart from all of the above, sitting on the Rani Dunga will give you the magnificent views of Mt. Kanchendzonga and other peaks such as Mt. Kabru, Mt. Pandim and its ranges. The top also gives you the breathtaking views of Dentam valley and Darap valley.
